Question:
Assalamualaikum.
Wanted to know if Salah is valid .
If an imaam stood for qiraah and went in rukooh normal….but sat on a chair for sujood and tashahud…is that permissible
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullāhi Wa-Barakātuh.
It is not permissible for a Muqtadi (who can perform Sajdah on the ground) to follow an Imam that cannot perform Sajdah on the ground.
However, it is valid to pray behind an Imam who is sitting down if the Imam can prostrate on the ground. [1]

کرسی پر بیٹھ کر اشارہ سے نماز پڑھنے والے کی امامت رکوع سجدہ پر قادر مقتدیوں کے لئے درست نہیں ہے، لیکن اگر کوئ امام اس طرح نماز پڑھے کہ بحالت قیام کرسی یا اسٹول پر بیٹھے،لیکن رکوع اور سجدہ با قاعدہ ادا کرے،تو اس کے پیچھے ہر طرح کے مقتدیوں کی نماز درست ہو جائےگی-
